Dury’s version of Stravinsky’s homonymous work explores the initiation of courtship and amorous conquest from a choral construction that affects the rhythmic aspects and complex group movements.
The energy of the movement, the appeal from earth, the surprise, the challenge and the jealousy are the inspiring ideas of the work and one challenge for its interpreters: face a universal score and respond to choreographic demands, whirlwinds of movement, gestures and steps of great intensity and emotional charge.
